About The Author
I’d like to think that at 58 years young, I am, as I told my kids while celebrating my last birthday, rapidly approaching middle-age! My parents were active into their 90’s, so I figure I’m not too far off.
My Bride of 38 years and I have three grown children, a Son and two Daughters and 7, soon to be 8 wonderful Grandchildren. I also like to say that I am a recovering-Rebel, that Jesus isn’t nearly finished working on me, but I have learned to yield to His molding and shaping rather than resist it.
In September of 05’ He took me from behind the steering wheel of an 18-wheeler and stood me up behind the Pulpit here at Calvary Bible Church. I continued to drive truck part-time until the Church called me as their Pastor in May of 07’.
I am pursuing my “official” schooling from Moody Bible Institute through the Distance Learning Program, and my preaching reflects the many years of education I received at the “School of Hard Knocks” and what I am learning through Moody’s courses. I’m a Preachers’ Kid, who came to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ when I was about 8 years old in the small town of Moccasin Montana, where my Dad had a small home-based church.
I knew the Lord had called me to Ministry while still a pre-teen, but willfully chose to rebel and run from Him and His call on my life. In the mid-80’s I surrendered my life to Him, quit running from Him, and ran toward Him instead. I have been actively involved in fundamental churches ever since, and have spent much time in teaching and leadership roles as God trained me for the Ministry, in spite of my lack of faith that he could somehow work out the obstacles to becoming a full-time Pastor.
I echo in amazement the words the apostle Paul said in I Timothy 1:12 “I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service.” By His grace and in His power I will continue to share His Word and His love to all who gather here at Calvary.
Hope we see you soon!
